I’m pleased to share an important update regarding salary increases. Yesterday, Governor Maura Healey signed the state’s supplemental budget put forward by the state legislature, which includes funding for the negotiated salary increases for our eligible employees in the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and Massachusetts Society of Professors (MSP) bargaining units.
As a result, the Human Resources team is working diligently to process the increases and retroactive pay as quickly as possible over the next few pay periods. While information on the implementation dates will be forthcoming, the increases will be effective Jan. 12, 2025 and July 13, 2025. Eligible non-unit employees will also receive similar increases at the same time.
While UMass Lowell and system leaders have been actively advocating for the timely release of these funds, we understand the uncertainty this delay may have had on many of you and appreciate your patience.
