We are nearing the completion of the self-study process for our 10-year institutional accreditation with NECHE (New England Commission of Higher Education). We want to thank the hundreds of faculty, staff, and students who have assisted us as we wrote and gathered data for the self-study.

The next step in our review is a once-every-ten-years campus visit by a team of 8 faculty and administrators from peer institutions. They will be on site from Nov. 5 to 8 to learn more about the university and our projections for the future. Many of you have been asked to meet with the visiting team. These meetings are an essential way for the visiting team to learn more about UML and how we are meeting the commission’s standards, and to ask follow-up questions to gain further insights.

If you have received a meeting invitation but have not yet responded, please do so ASAP and convene with the rest of your committee to draft a minimal set of slides as described in your meeting invitation. The hard deadline to drop your slides in this Teams folder is Friday, Oct. 27. If you have questions about the slides, contact NECHE2023@uml.edu.

Please note that the visiting team might ask for additional meetings during the course of their visit. We appreciate your collaboration and flexibility if we need to pull you in for these meetings during the period from Nov. 5 to 8.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to NECHE2023@uml.edu if you have any questions.
