Wind Ensemble in Concert - Dan Lutz, Conductor – Presents The Lord of the Rings
Thursday, April 27, 2023, 8 p.m., Durgin Concert Hall

The Wind Ensemble, a 40-piece brass, woodwind and percussion ensemble, is comprised of some of the finest musicians at the university. The Wind Ensemble will be performing in concert on Thursday, April 27, at 8 p.m. in Durgin Concert Hall. We are excited to present Symphony no. I "The Lord of the Rings," a masterful musical interpretation by Dutch composer Johan de Meij of the J.R.R. Tolkien classic trilogy The Lord of the Rings. The program will also include Morten Lauridsen’s beautiful "O Magnum Mysterium," and Leonard Bernstein’s exuberant Overture to "Candide."

This concert is free and open to the public.
