As we begin a new semester, we would like to highlight some of the resources UMass Lowell has to support our students' mental health.

Do you have a student in crisis, or one that you think could benefit from immediate support? We have an on-call clinician available 24/7. Students can call 855-890-2879 anytime of day or night to get the support they need. They are licensed clinicians, skilled to handle even the most serious issues, and then connect back with Counseling Services to follow up.

Teletherapy is available for students through Counseling Services, and students can call 978-934-6800 to make an appointment. Caring counselors are also available to consult with faculty and staff if you have questions about how to help a student.

Is there a student you’re worried about and want UMass Lowell to reach out to? File a STARs referral today. STARs, our behavioral intervention team, meets regularly to review students of concern, determine the best course of action, and reach out to students in need.

*As always, if you are concerned about the safety of a student call UMass Lowell Police at 978-934-4911 as your first step.

Counseling Services has information and resources tailored to help faculty and staff identify warning signs, navigate conversations with students, and refer students to counseling.

Please refer to the Blue Folder and contact Melissa Wall at 978-934-6671 or Melissa_Wall@uml.edu with any questions you may have.
