Nichalin Summerfield is an Assistant Professor of Operations & Information Systems Department at UMass Lowell. She received her Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Operations Management and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Her research interests are in the areas of game theoretical analysis and business analytics in operations and supply chain management. Her published articles have appeared in European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research, and Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked at Accenture (Thailand) where she was involved in various IT process re-design and system integration projects. While studying at the University of Arizona, she worked as a part-time software engineer to develop the image compression software used on the Phoenix Mars Lander.
