Biosketch
Ed Brennen is a senior writer and editor in the Office of Marketing and Communications at UMass Lowell, where he has been telling the university’s stories since 2014. He covers a wide range of subjects — including student achievements, faculty research, alumni success and staff initiatives. His storytelling extends to photography as well, with his images appearing on UMass Lowell’s social media channels and in print materials.
Before joining the university, Ed built a career in journalism and marketing. He spent a decade at the Boston Herald, where he rose to the role of Night Sports Editor. He later transitioned to marketing as copy director at EF Education First in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Originally from Oregon, Ed enjoys traveling, music, comedy and sports.Selected Awards and Honors
