Due to the impact of COVID-19, the university has established a short-term emergency financial assistance fund to support staff who have been temporarily laid off. These funds are made available through the generous donations of UML alumni and friends. At this time, the maximum amount requested cannot exceed $2,000.

Available funds have been exhausted. Therefore, applications are no longer being accepted. If additional funds become available through generous donations specifically earmarked for the staff emergency fund, the application process will be reopened.

Eligibility Criteria:

Benefited UML employee recently laid off

Experiencing financial hardship as a result of being laid off

Additional Information:

Funds do not need to be repaid

Employees may only receive funding one time via this application process

Applications accepted only until Sept. 1 or until funds are exhausted

Application Process:

Complete and submit this application. This is the only way an emergency funding request can be considered.

Once the request and any supporting documents are received, you will receive a response within five business days. If approved, you will receive information on when these funds will be disbursed to you. You will receive funds through existing direct deposit information on file within Human Resources.
