Advance your career options with a graduate certificate.

Get Started

Graduate certificate programs are geared towards individuals seeking additional qualifications in one of the areas specified below. Students who apply to any of our certificate programs do not have to apply to any degree program although many eventually do.

We offer five certificates:

Courses

Each certificate program consists of four graduate-level courses, offered through the Psychology Department or other UMass Lowell departments. The courses must be completed within a five year period with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average, and with no more than three credits below a "B" grade. Courses completed for one certificate may not be used for another certificate. Certificates indicate that a student has completed advanced coursework in a given area. They can be helpful as an additional job qualification or as an aid for mid-career advancement.

With the Applied Behavior Analysis: BCBA Coursework Preparation Certificate, three credits can usually be applied toward the master's degree in Community Social Psychology. Students enrolled in the DW, FS, DVP, or JSHJR certificate programs have the option of applying some or most of these course credits to the master's Degree in Community Social Psychology if they choose to apply to this graduate program. However, only one online course (3 credits) is allowed for transfer towards the CSP master's degree.
