Biosketch

Jenn Pipp is a media artist, educato, and creative operations manager whose work bridges production, education and technical design. She is currently an adjunct professor in Digital Media at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she teaches introductory theory and production as well as advanced editing. Pipp holds an Master of Fine Arts in Film and Media Art from Emerson College (2020) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2001). Her artistic practice explores the intersection of nature and technology through experimental and online forms, ranging from performance and installation to live video and web-based projects. Her work has been shown in Boston and New York at venues including Mono No Aware, Mobius, Emerson Contemporary Gallery, Boston Cyberarts and the Brattle Theatre.

With more than two decades in higher education, Pipp has enjoyed designing and managing complex creative environments and the structures that support them. She has served as Visiting Artist in Pedagogy at Emerson College (2022); Manager of Film Technology and Photo Operations at Emerson College (2019–2021); Film Camera Technician at Emerson College (2006–2019); Studio Manager, Film and Animation, at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2005–2006); and Media Services Assistant at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2001–2005). She loves the creative challenge of teaching and finds her greatest inspiration in her students and their willingness to be present and think deeply.
