Biosketch
Peter Behrens learned the business of screenwriting by writing and rewriting feature scripts for the legendary Hollywood producer Jerome Hellman. Behrens is a member of The Writers Guild of America (WGA) and The Writers Guild of Canada (WGC) with several film and television credits, and is one of the writers developing Rene Balcer's new espionage series, "The Council." Behrens' first novel, "The Law of Dreams," won the Governor General’s Literary Award and is published in 9 languages. The New York Times hailed his second novel, "The O’Briens" (2011) as “a major accomplishment” and "Carry Me" (2016) was one of National Public Radio’s Best Reads of 2016. Behrens has held a Wallace Stegner Writing Fellowship at Stanford University and a Fellowship at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
