Biosketch

Danielle Marie Carkin, Ph.D. has recently accepted a position at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. She will be an Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice Department. Danielle Marie is also the Managing Editor of Crime & Delinquency. Her primary research focus is crime across the life course, and the risk and protective factors as youth make the transition from teenager to young adult. Her dissertation focused on the onset, persistence and desistence of criminal behavior over the life course and expanded the literature on criminal careers as it explored criminal careers in a manner never done before through the use of quantitative and qualitative data, including offender specific variables, offense specific variables and life transitions.
She is currently the Senior Research Associate and Co-PI of the Second Chance Act Reentry Program for Adult Offenders with Co-Occurring Substance Abuse and Mental Health Disorders and has a two more grants pending.  
Outside of academia, Danielle Marie likes to play and watch sports, especially basketball. She is an avid Peyton Manning fan, despite growing up in Massachusetts. She also enjoys vacationing, spending time with family and friends, and trying out new restaurants.
