Research Interests

The arts and crafts of textile and millinery industries from cultural and historical perspectives: symbolism, power in politics, military, theatrical, children’s literature, music, psychological associations, economic impact, and more.

Biosketch

Patricia has experience as an in-house senior graphic designer and user interface designer, and print production editing group leader for a number of major software companies including Eastman Software, Inc., a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak and Wang Laboratories, Inc. She also has experience as a contract writer at Alcatel-Lucent, Inc., a global telecommunications company where she wrote and designed both end-user and technical material for a web-based multimedia communications product for enterprises. In addition to Patricia's corporate experience, she has extensive educational experience teaching at all levels from kindergarten through college. Patricia’s interest in millinery resulted in the development of the Hat Tales website focused on information about hats and headdresses.

Patricia's expertise lies in graphic design, user interface design, illustration, documentation template design, technical writing and editing, curriculum design and teaching, project leadership and team leadership.
