Joe is responsible for overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Building Automation, and Power Plant operations within the Facilities Management Department. The department’s primary responsibilities include the physical upkeep of the 5 million square foot UMass Lowell campus and supporting the overall student experience. He oversees a staff of more than 30 employees responsible for maintenance and operations, building automation and energy management, and high-pressure steam power plant operations.He is a UMass Lowell alumnus with a degree in mechanical engineering and a licensed mechanical engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, he brings over 20 years of consulting engineering experience with a focus on infrastructure master planning, design, energy analysis, and commissioning.
