Description
This class covers the French and Indian War to the end of the American Revolution. During this period, some North American colonists went from being devout British subjects in the 1750s to outright rebellion in the 1770s, while others remained loyal to the British Empire. We will use primary source documents to examine their actions in the eighteenth century and films, documentaries, and articles on film history to examine the widely varying depictions of these actions from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
