Faculty success depends on the ability to communicate our scholarship to our peers, students, and the public. UMass Lowell provides an evolving series of resources to help our faculty develop their research and creative activity programs, maintain productivity, produce proposals, and write articles and books to communicate findings.

Grant Writing Workshops

The Offices of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and Provost partner to support faculty through the grant writing process. Activities are scheduled throughout the year as part of the Enlightened Bites seminar series and as stand-alone events. Regular activities include proposal pitch panels, workshopping proposal titles, abstracts, and summaries, and CAREER/Early Investigator proposal development workshops.

Writing Groups

Faculty often find working within groups helps motivate writing. The Offices of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and Provost partner to support informal writing groups focusing on research proposals, articles and/or books, and dedicated writing spaces. Experienced faculty and administrators are available for support and brainstorming and snacks and refreshments are available for breaks.  

Proposal Development Assistance

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation has limited resources available to assist with proposal development, particularly for proposals from early career investigators and/or those that involve a multidisciplinary group of faculty.
