Bio-Sand Filtration System Implementation

Haiti has the lowest rates of access to improved water and sanitation infrastructure in the western hemisphere.

Based on a program developed by the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST), an educational program has been implemented for establishing water filtration systems in neighborhood housing within the city of Les Cayes.

HDSC faculty and student researchers will perform periodic testing to evaluate the effectiveness of the filtration systems as well as sanitation and safety of the water.
