Regions of Haiti suffer from a debilitating lack of sanitation measures for managing human waste.

The present means of sanitation are inadequate and contribute toward tremendous rates of disease caused by waterborne pathogens. Our goal is to implement biodigester technology at a large agricultural orphanage near Les Cayes, Haiti.

We plan to leverage the HDCS resources to make the biodigester a permanent operational fixture at the orphanage. Accomplishing this goal would create a model of moderate-scale sustainable sanitation that could be replicated throughout the region while also generating agricultural fertilizer and methane fuel that can be used for cooking or refrigeration.
