Facility and Equipment

The Health Assessment Laboratory (HAL) is a 2,873 square foot facility that includes three large research rooms, a sample collection room including phlebotomy, two dressing rooms, four assessment rooms and an interview room. In addition, there is a student collaboration space where students are encouraged to work with their peers to think critically about the research that is happening right in front of them. 

The state-of-the-art equipment in HAL includes:

  • Discovery QDR Series X-Ray Bone Densitometer WI (DXA)
  • COSMED Quark CPET Metabolic Measurement System
  • Woodway Treadmill
  • Lode Excalibur Sport Bicycle
  • ParvoMedics TrueOne 2400 Metabolic Measurement System
  • Finometer (non-invasive beat-to-beat blood pressure monitoring)
  • Power Spin MX Centrifuge
  • Cholestech (serum cholesterol, lipid, and glucose measurements)
