Before you get started with your project request, please refer to the Project Checklist and Project Timeline below for guidance. 

This form is to be used to request:

  • Print projects (flyers, brochures, etc.)
  • Marketing support for events and programs
  • Request for media or internal news coverage

Web/Digital-Based Project Requests

To request digital or web-based services, please use the web help ticketing system. This form is used for:

  • Update uml.edu web content, design or permissions
  • Request info be displayed on campus Hawki monitors
  • Request new/updates to web applications
  • Request changes to Schedule Builder
  • Request document remediation for accessibility
  • Request customized urls
  • Request website analytics
  • Request forms, e-commerce or EventBrite
  • Upload videos to website

Submit a Web Ticket

This form is NOT USED FOR Information Technology (IT) requests, email changes, etc. For IT requests, please email help@uml.edu.

  1. Review project timeline and make to sure meet minimum requirements for lead time.
  2. Identify funding source (if necessary). The creative and technical assistance provided by our team is available to your department at no charge. Departments are responsible for production costs, which may include printing, photography, postage or vendor charges. Purchase orders must be completed before costs are incurred.
  3. Identify your target audience.
  4. Understand what goal/objective you want to accomplish.
  5. Provide appropriate feedback. For most projects, you will have one or more opportunities to give feedback. We will take your feedback seriously while we move your project toward completion. We will also bring our expertise and judgment to bear on your project. Our goal is to make the process as streamlined, inclusive and beneficial as possible.
  6. Identify who has final approval for this project. We will secure a final approval by your department’s designee immediately prior to production. Once approval is given, there is no further review.

Note: MarCom applies the university’s editorial style, graphic and brand standards to all projects.  


Our team will develop a production schedule based on your preferred completion date, the scope of the project and resource availability. If we cannot meet your timeline or if your project is not appropriate for Marketing and Communications, we will tell you and suggest alternative options.

  • Print collateral: six to eight weeks, for projects such as
    • Brochures
    • Trifolds
    • Posters
    • Reports
    • Direct mailers
    • Popup displays
    • Banners
  • Website building: two to four weeks. More time is needed for new web applications or programming.
  • Evites: minimum two weeks prior to RSVP date (which is often two weeks prior to the event date).
  • Media Relations: at least one month prior to event.
  • Social media, Hawki monitors, Today@UMass Lowell require less time but are more effective the sooner you can advertise your event. In general, at least two to three days.
