Patrick Grotton is the Chief Information Officer for Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC). The Information Services, Health Information Management (Medical Records) and Pharmacy departments report into him.   He has been with Greater Lawrence Family Health since 2004.  He has helped the Health Center bring forward several innovative initiatives including Pharmacy, telepharmacy, and mammography.  He is currently leading the efforts to fully reautomate  GLFHC’s software infrastructure.

He has worked in healthcare since 1998.  He was formally the Chief Information Officer for Mercy Health System of Maine in Portland Maine.   The work at Mercy included the complete analysis and documentation of the entire hospital clinical workflow in order to develop an improved process where they could safely and efficiently deliver high quality patient care.  Patrick led the hospital in the replacement of its legacy “best-of-breed” clinical and administrative systems to an efficient integrated solution.

Patrick has also previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine within the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies teaching graduate level Medical Informatics.  The program was delivered in conjunction with St. Matthew’s Medical School as a co-curriculum of a Master’s of Health Care Administration and Doctor of Medicine.
