The Family Orientation program is designed to answer your questions and leave you feeling even more confident that UMass Lowell is a great choice for your student.
We realize sending your student off to college is a big step and a big investment. We are here to support you - and your student - through this transition and to serve as a resource through commencement and beyond.
Family Programs offers several Family Orientation sessions throughout the summer. Orientation is a day-long session that allows parents, guardians and other members of a student's support system to meet many important staff from offices on campus. The goal for families that attend a session is that they will walk away better prepared to support their student as they begin their college career.
The registration fee for one-day sessions is $20 per person and includes a resource bag, continental breakfast and lunch in the dining hall. Every session begins with check-in at University Crossing at 8:30 a.m. and presentations conclude around 4:30 p.m.
Please be advised that these sessions are not for incoming students. They should instead plan to attend their own first-year student orientation or transfer student orientation.
Each day session is will focus on two of the colleges/schools at UMass Lowell but are open to families of students in any of the six colleges / schools.
