Preparing students for a future in biomedical, biopharma and medical devices industries

The first undergraduate Biomedical Engineering degree offered by a public university in Massachusetts, the UMass Lowell Biomedical Engineering Program prepares students for careers in the biomedical industries, especially those involving medical device development, cell & tissue engineering, or biomechanics.
The undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Department was established in 2016 in an effort to address the growing demand for biomedical engineers, especially in Massachusetts, which is a leader in the medical device industry. While striving to provide students with the skills they need to succeed, the program creates opportunities for students in research, co-ops/internships and careers.

A Helping Hand
