Become a Mentor or Volunteer with Veterans Reskilled in Innovative Solutions for Employment (Vets RISE)

At Vets RISE, we help veterans transition into civilian careers in key support fields like project coordination, logistics, operations, and supply chain management within the biotech and life sciences sectors. We invite professionals from these industries to join us as mentors and volunteers, offering their knowledge and guidance to help veterans succeed.

By sharing your insights, you’ll accelerate their transition into key support functions like project coordination, logistics, operations, and facilities management.

Your guidance will help them seamlessly transfer these skills into civilian roles, strengthening their career prospects while also helping build the backbone industry.

  • Flexible Involvement: Our volunteer opportunities are designed to fit your schedule. Whether you contribute a one-time 60-minute session or engage with a participant for ongoing mentorship, your involvement can be tailored to your availability and expertise.

  • 60-Minute Talks: Share your industry insights and real-world experiences with our participants. Topics can include lessons learned in support fields like project coordination, navigating operations, working in facilities management, and much more. Talks can be conducted in person or virtually, depending on your availability and preference.
  • Resume Reviews and Mock Interviews: Open to industry experts to workforce peers. Help our participants refine their resumes, ensuring they effectively highlight their transferable skills and experience for roles while also helping to identify military-specific jargon. Host mock interview sessions to build their confidence for real- world interviews.
  • Industry Question and Answer (Q&A) Sessions and Informational Interviews: Answer participants' questions and provide guidance on what to expect when transitioning into a specific field.
  • Host a Shadow Session, Site Visits and Interns: Open your doors to a participant for a short shadowing opportunity, organize a site visit or even take on an Intern (minimum time period is 4-weeks). This allows them to observe real-world operations, gain firsthand experience, and deepen their understanding of the industry. No Cost Obligation for Hosting Internships or Shadows. Hosts of internships do not incur any cost obligations, though stipends are optional.
  • Direct Mentorship and Networking Support: Pair directly with a participant for ongoing mentorship throughout their training (8-20 weeks depending upon participant). Offer support, advice, and guidance as they work through the program, helping them navigate challenges, apply learning in real-world scenarios, and expand their professional network.
