Originally from Uganda, East Africa, Patrick embarked on a journey driven by a passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to combat plastic pollution. With a bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Engineering and rooted passion for environmental sustainability, he entered the world of plastic recycling, where he worked for over three years, solving local problems using local solutions.

His journey into plastics began with a profound realization of the global challenge of plastic pollution and the urgent need to enhance the recycling rates. Inspired by his experiences in Uganda and motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact, he set out to advance his knowledge in plastics engineering.

Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Plastics Engineering at UMass Lowell, he is dedicated to working towards reshaping the future of polymeric materials. His vision extends beyond the classroom, aiming to create a world where these materials are utilized sustainably, benefiting both people and the delicate ecosystems we depend on.

As a member of the SWIMMER program, he is excited to collaborate with like-minded individuals, experts, and innovators in the field.
