Koh Leads 3rd Congressional District Primary, Nearly 30 Percent of Voters Still Undecided
UMass Lowell and the Boston the Globe have partnered to release a second public poll in the Massachusetts 3rd Congressional District race to succeed outgoing incumbent Niki Tsongas.

KEY FINDINGS
- Dan Koh, the former chief of staff to Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, leads a field of 10 candidates with 19 percent of vote
- Rufus Gifford, the former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark, and State Senator Barbara L’Italien are tied for second place with 13 percent of the vote; remaining candidates 8 percent or less
- Asked to rank candidate characteristics, 51 percent of respondents said that standing up to Donald Trump is most important, 18 percent said not taking money from lobbyists, 15 percent said being from the district, and 9 percent said increasing the diversity of the Congressional delegation
- The most popular issues ranked: the economy (12 percent), health care (10 percent) and general dissatisfaction with government (9 percent)
