Biosketch

Guillermina Altomonte is a sociologist working at the intersections of care work, health care, economic sociology, and culture. Her doctoral research addresses the transition of health care delivery for the elderly from an institutional-based to a home- and community-based model, offering an account of how changing valuations of old age shape this transition, and with what consequences for different actors. She has also conducted research on the institutional transformations of elder care in Chile. In 2021 she will join New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service as Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow.
