Dear Colleague,

I am writing to ask for your assistance in recruiting faculty for a study about their experiences in academia. The study will assess barriers and facilitators of productivity, psychological wellness, and physical health. This study is funded by the National Science Foundation and is being conducted by UMass Lowell in collaboration with UMass Medical School.

The survey will take about 20 minutes; participation is completely voluntary, confidential, and anonymous. Faculty can choose to withdraw at any point without penalty. No identifying information will be collected. Upon completion of this survey, faculty will have the opportunity to enter into a raffle to win one of twelve $250 Amazon gift cards.

We need to recruit over 3,000 faculty, both men and women, who work in academic institutions throughout the U.S. This is an ambitious goal, so we hope we can enlist your help! Please pass along the attached recruitment letter and link to the survey to as many full time faculty members at your institution as you can.

In addition, please consider sending the attached recruitment letter and link to your broader network of academic faculty to invite them to participate.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our research team at workplace_survey@uml.edu. You can also learn more about this project at the following website: http://uml.edu/advance.

Kind Regards,
UMass Lowell ADVANCE Team
