Biosketch

Thomas Sloan is an assistant professor of management in the department’s Manufacturing/Management Information Systems Group. 

He is a member of several professional organizations including the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and APICSߞThe Association for Operations Management.  He is the faculty advisor for the Operations Management Group, which is the APICS student chapter at UMass Lowell. 

Previously, he taught at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Prior to his graduate studies, Professor Sloan worked as a production manager for Frito-Lay, Inc.
