Biosketch

Luvai Motiwalla, Ph.D., is Professor of Management Information System at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Operations and Management Information Systems Department. Motiwalla earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. His current research mainly focuses on online learning and the impact of emerging IT (such as social networks, mobile applications, speech recognition, voice user interface (VUI), e-business, and ERP) on organizations. His teaching areas include e-business, ERP, database, telecommunication and MIS. He has published two books, over 30 articles in journals, and presented at more than 60 national and international conferences. He has also received more than $1 million in grants for research and development projects – funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Department of Education, PeopleSoft Corp, Davis Foundation, Connecticut Department of Health Services, IBM, NCR and U.S. Army.
