The UMass Lowell field hockey team has won its first ever America East regular-season title and earned the right to host the 2023 America East Field Hockey Championship from Nov. 2-5 at Wicked Blue Field. As the top seed, the River Hawks will have a first-round bye for the tournament and are set to square off against either No. 4 California or No. 5 Vermont on Friday, Nov. 3 at noon.

The River Hawks finished the 2023 regular season with 14-3 overall record, including a program-best, 7-1 mark in America East action to share its first league title with UAlbany and bring the America East postseason to Lowell for the second time ever after previously hosting in 2017.

In addition to Cal and Vermont, No. 3 New Hampshire and No. 6 Maine will also face off in the first round. UMass Lowell plays the first semifinal contest on Friday, while UAlbany will take on the winner of the UNH vs. Maine game at 3 p.m. The championship matchup will be played on Nov. 5 at noon to determine the league's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Tickets for all America East Championship games will be sold at the gate (Adult $10, Child $6, America East Student $2). Admission for the first 250 UMass Lowell students is free. All five tournament games can also be watched on ESPN+.
