UMass Lowell Police Department Officer Bill Emmons was honored by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee at its annual CPR/First Responders lifesaving awards ceremony on June 9 at Bentley University.
Emmons helped resuscitate an elderly university employee who had collapsed at Pinanski Hall on Dec. 2, 2015.
“Officer Emmons is a credit to his family, our agency and the university community,” says UMass Lowell Police Chief Randy Brashears.
Officers from across the Commonwealth were honored for their lifesaving efforts at the ceremony, which included remarks from Gov. Charlie Baker.
Emmons also received a Heroic Action award for his efforts at the Massachusetts Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators’ annual awards ceremony last December.
