During its two-year quiet phase, Our Legacy, Our Place: The Campaign for UMass Lowell has been anything but idle. The university’s first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign has generated an unmistakable roar of approval from supporters, who have already committed $60 million toward the campaign’s $125 million goal.

That quiet phase will last just a little longer, explains Vice Chancellor for Advancement Edward Chiu. “While we’re very excited to go public with the campaign,” Chiu says, “we’re postponing our public launch, originally scheduled for this fall, so that we can honor our new chancellor, Jacquie Moloney, early in the school year.”

Chancellor Moloney has already identified Our Legacy, Our Place as one of her key priorities. The campaign, which will now have its public launch in spring 2016, will focus on five key goals: increasing financial aid; recruiting and retaining a dynamic faculty; creating the ideal campus environment; investing in athletic programs and facilities; and strengthening alumni engagement and annual giving.
