Join Digital Media and Gender Studies for a screening of "Heightened Scrutiny" on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in OLE 222.
"Heightened Scrutiny" follows Chase Strangio, an ACLU attorney and the first openly transgender person to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court, as he challenges Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming health care for transgender youth. Featuring insights from journalists and activists, the documentary examines how mainstream media coverage fuels anti-trans legislation and shapes public opinion.
