The Asian American Center for Excellence and Engagement invites you to a screening and question-and-answer with award-winning documentarian Michael Siv for his latest film project, "Young and Rooted."
"Young & Rooted" is a youth-led initiative where Southeast Asian young people create films, mentor peers and lead community storytelling. Through this project, Siv empowers youth to explore their own identity, lived experiences and family history by equipping them with a camera and allowing them to film any aspect of their lives they wish to share. Stories are centered around the younger generation’s experience growing up in the U.S. as children or grandchildren of refugees and immigrants from Southeast Asia.
