UMass Lowell’s Center for Sports Engineering and Performance invites the campus community to join us for the center’s official public launch on Friday, Nov. 13, 2026.
Building on UMass Lowell’s longstanding expertise in sports engineering and expanding research in human performance, the center brings together faculty, students and industry partners from across disciplines to advance research, education and innovation at the intersection of engineering, science, human performance and sport.
The launch will feature a fireside chat with Joseph VanBuskirk, Head of Partnerships and Athlete Experience – Sports Marketing at New Balance, exploring the future of sport and the evolving connections among athletes, technology, engineering and innovation.
The program will also introduce the vision for the center and showcase sports-related research and capabilities from across UMass Lowell through faculty and student research posters, networking and opportunities to explore new collaborations.
