Dear UMass Lowell students,

Have you ever used AI to help with your résumé?

We are conducting a research study at UMass Lowell to better understand how students use AI for résumé development, how confident they feel using AI appropriately and what career-readiness support may be most useful.

Who can participate?

  • UMass Lowell undergraduate students
  • Students who are at least 18 years old

Why participate?

  • Learn more about how to use AI effectively and responsibly for résumé development
  • Have an opportunity to review and improve your résumé through our AI Résumé Workshop
  • Receive personalized résumé feedback and explore AI-supported résumé tools
  • Build confidence in using AI as part of your career preparation
  • Share your experience and help us better understand the AI and résumé guidance students need
  • Help inform future AI-supported career-readiness resources at UMass Lowell

Study details

  • Participation involves completing a brief online survey that takes approximately 2–3 minutes. The survey asks about your experience using AI for résumé development, your confidence in using AI appropriately, your concerns about responsible AI use, and the types of guidance that may be helpful.
  • At the end of the survey, you may also indicate whether you are interested in participating in our AI Résumé Workshop. The first workshop will be held on Oct. 8 in Ball Hall 208 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Additional workshops may be offered in the future. Advising staff from the Career & Co-op Center will share insights and guidance during these workshops. During the workshop, students will have an opportunity to review and revise their résumé using AI-supported résumé tools and receive personalized résumé feedback. Students who complete the workshop research activities will receive a gift card.

Important clarification

Participation in this research is completely voluntary. You do not need to be interested in the AI Résumé Workshop to participate in the survey. Your survey responses are valuable and will help us better understand students’ experiences and needs related to AI and résumé development.
