The Office of Research Development (ORD) invites you to join us for a webinar about the U.S. Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission.

Launched as a national effort to transform scientific discovery through AI, advanced computing and collaboration, the Genesis Mission is designed to address major challenges in energy, discovery science, national security and other national priorities while significantly increasing America’s scientific productivity. The first Genesis Mission funding opportunity, issued in spring 2026, represented a historic investment: The $293 million Request for Applications (RFA) generated the largest response to a funding opportunity in DOE history, resulting in 278 projects involving 342 institutions across the country.
The session will provide an overview of the Genesis Mission’s priorities and offer insights from the first round of awardees announced earlier this year. We will discuss what is currently known about a potential funding opportunity anticipated in fall 2026, including new challenge areas. ORD will also highlight resources that can help faculty begin developing a proposal and offer suggestions for next steps.
