Join the Total Worker Health Trends Expert Webinar “Workforce Experience at Work: Participatory Solutions for Complex Workplaces.”

Correctional workers face chronic stress, workplace violence, demanding schedules and other conditions that can take a serious toll on their health and well-being. For two decades, occupational health researchers at UMass Lowell and UConn Center for Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW) have partnered with the Connecticut Department of Correction on the Health Improvement through Employee Control (HITEC) study.

In the HITEC study, corrections workers developed participatory interventions, giving employees a voice in improving their working conditions. This work was co-led by UMass Lowell’s Mazen El Ghaziri, Ph.D. (Solomont School of Nursing), a leading scholar in correctional worker health and well-being, and workplace violence. HITEC was a study of the Center for Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW), a joint initiative of UMass Lowell and the University of Connecticut.

In this free one-hour webinar, you will hear from four correctional employees who will share how HITEC Design Teams are addressing workplace stresses through staff training, workforce-designed surveys, employee-led interventions and evaluation.
