The Office of Sustainability has been working with the Northeast Recycling Council to offer the Northeast Sustainable Materials Career Program, a free professional development opportunity exclusively for UMass Lowell undergraduate students.

The program includes:

  • A full-day, in-person Career Exploration Event on Monday, Nov. 9, including tours of Casella’s Materials Recovery Facility and the SciAps facility, transportation, lunch and a career panel featuring industry professionals.
  • The opportunity to participate in NERC’s 10-hour online Foundations of Sustainable Materials and Recycling course in January and February.
  • A professional development certificate students can add to their résumé and LinkedIn profile.

The Career Exploration Event is limited to 16 students, and up to 10 participants will also have the opportunity to take part in the online course. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students should complete the interest form by Oct. 9.
