When Hotels Become Home: What Living in Hotels Reveals About Housing Policy, Housing Insecurity and Health

Drawing on findings from the DeKalb Hotel Study, Dr. Ballard will explore why individuals and families turn to hotels as long-term housing, the conditions they experience, and the impacts on health, well-being and housing stability. The presentation will highlight how hotels can provide critical shelter while also presenting challenges related to cost, safety, social isolation and access to resources.
