Dear faculty,
The Honors College invites you to submit proposals for the Honors Fellowship Program. An Honors College Student Fellowship is a $1,500 to $3,000 grant given to a Commonwealth Honors student for preapproved scholarly engagement overseen and guided by a faculty mentor.
Faculty should submit their fellowship proposals by Sept. 11 for full consideration using the fellowship proposal form.
The Honors College Fellowship Program matches faculty to work directly with honors students, with students receiving funding from the Honors College. Qualified honors students will receive a stipend of $1,500 for 75 hours of focused effort (one semester) or $3,000 for 150 hours of focused effort (two semesters).
Faculty can apply to work with a specific honors student or indicate that they need a student, and the Honors College will post the opportunity.
In your proposal, please state whether this will be a one-semester or two-semester project.
Students can also use this fellowship as an Honors Experiential Learning Opportunity, which will satisfy an H4, H5 or H6 honors requirement.
Note: All fellowships must have a critical reading component and conclude with a 15-minute in-person student presentation. It is important that the project offers a meaningful opportunity for the student to engage in research or creative work with their mentor.
