The 42nd annual Bread & Roses Heritage Festival will take place on Labor Day, Sept. 7, at Lawrence Heritage State Park (1 Jackson St.) in Lawrence, Mass.
The festival honors the more than 20,000 textile workers, largely immigrants and young women, who went on strike for better working conditions in the Lawrence mills in 1912.
The free festival features musical acts, vendors and speakers on struggles for social justice in the Merrimack Valley. If you are looking to get involved in an organization working for justice or learn more about unions, this is a great opportunity to connect.
Learn more about this year's lineup on the Bread & Roses Heritage Festival website.
