As students return to campus, fire safety should be a top priority.
- Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with your building's emergency exits, fire alarm pull stations and evacuation procedures
- Never block hallways, stairwells or exit doors
- Always evacuate immediately when a fire alarm sounds
- Use only approved electrical devices
- Avoid overloading outlets and power strips
- Never leave cooking unattended
Small actions can prevent serious incidents and help keep our residence halls, classrooms and campus community safe. If you see a fire hazard or have a fire safety concern, report it promptly.
Fire safety is everyone's responsibility. Stay aware, stay prepared, and have a safe and successful semester.
