Please join us in celebrating the retirement of Robin Toof, director of the Center for Community Research & Engagement (CCRE), whose career has spanned more than three decades.
Robin joined UMass Lowell in 1992 as a grant-funded community organizer. Her roles at the university evolved from assistant director of the Center for Community Research & Engagement (then the Center for Family, Work & Community) to co-director and then to her current role as director. She has also served as the director of service learning and as an associate at the former Center for Women & Work. Robin is adjunct faculty in the Psychology Department and has taught grant writing and other courses for many years.
Robin has dedicated her career to building strength in communities and engagement in collaborative community problem-solving around pressing issues. She has forged and maintains effective community partnerships, promotes community-engaged research and serves as a catalyst for applying the university's resources and expertise to enhance the well-being of communities.
A retirement celebration will be held in Robin’s honor.- Date: Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026
