The ninth annual Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race (LKSR) is back for another day of wild STEAM shenanigans on Sept. 19.
The LKSR features human-powered, all-terrain sculptures that navigate more than six miles throughout the city, traversing cobblestones, battling a 75-foot-long mud pit near the Tsongas Arena, and maneuvering into the Merrimack River at Heritage State Park, across the river from South Campus. The free event includes games for kids, live music and guaranteed smiles. Wear a fun hat or dress like a pirate, as it is also International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
