The electric vehicle charging rate at UMass Lowell ChargePoint stations will change from $0.2104 to $0.225 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) on Aug. 17, 2026. For vehicles receiving full output from a Level 2 charger, this rate will amount to approximately $1.48 per hour.
This per-kWh rate is determined by the university’s annual assessment of utility costs, and all revenue collected from the stations is used to reimburse UMass Lowell utility accounts for electricity use.
