Mindful Weaving
Take a break to sit and meditate as you get a chance to weave on our hand looms. Feel the rhythm and relax, find your groove and attune to the loom! Whether you need a break from the day-to-day bustle or are looking to discover a new peaceful pastime, Mindful Weaving Workshops offer a serene setting to unwind while weaving on our handlooms. Instructors will be available to assist for those who have never woven before, and our experienced weavers will be set up for success with pattern options to experiment with.
The Mindful Weaving workshop is intended for ages 16 and up. Workshops will be offered on August 6. There are two 1-hour sessions available, beginning at 4:30pm and 5:45pm. For more information and to reserve your spot, please call 978-970-5000 or email TIHC@uml.edu. Be sure to indicate your preferred date and session time. See more information about the weaving event on Facebook.
Hands-On History
Lowell National Historical Park and the Tsongas Industrial History Center are excited to welcome you for “Hands-On History” — part of the City of Lowell’s Bicentennial celebrations and the Tsongas Industrial History Center’s 35th anniversary!
This month’s activities include trying weaving on a loom and tackling an engineering challenge.
These free, drop-in workshops are appropriate for all ages. Explore our educational workshop spaces at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum and discover how the Industrial Revolution shaped life then and now.
