More than six weeks have passed since the university rededicated University Crossing as the Meehan Student Center, at 100 Meehan Way. I wanted to update you on progress of changing the name and address in some highly visible places:
New address
The new address for the Meehan Student Center (formerly University Crossing) is 100 Meehan Way, Lowell MA 01854. This is reflected in the online UMass Lowell map as well as 25Live.
Online updates
The new name and address are also updated in many, many references on the UMass Lowell website. In many of these cases, you’ll see the old address given in parentheses (220 Pawtucket St.) to acknowledge that mapping apps and software will take a while to catch up to this change.
Note that the web team is updating office locations within bios for staff working in the Meehan Student Center throughout the summer. There is no need to submit changes to these staff bios, unless there are other updates to your information.
PDF documents attached to the website may still refer to the old name and address. Updating these is the responsibility of individual offices and departments. Please note that documents, once updated, will need to be remediated for accessibility before reposting to the web. Please submit updated documents via a web ticket for remediation.
Other addresses
Renaming Pawtucket Street as Meehan Way from Aiken to Salem streets may result in new street numbers for several other UMass Lowell buildings: Fox Hall, Donahue Hall, Leitch Hall, Bourgeois Hall, East Garage and the Rist Urban Agricultural Greenhouse and Farm.
We’re waiting to hear from Lowell’s postmaster and the city engineer on what those new street numbers will be. We will share that information as soon as we have it.
Printed materials
University materials will be updated on a rolling basis. The responsibility for this falls to individual offices and departments creating those materials.
If you feel that you need other materials because of this change, please keep in mind costs as well as our shared commitment to sustainability. Business cards may be ordered through Print Services, while resources such as letterhead and envelopes should be sourced through existing vendors.
Please let me know if you have questions, or if there’s any way the Office of Marketing and Communications can assist you.
