This 1-day, no-cost Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 7.5-hour Disaster Site Worker course is intended to provide necessary training to workers who provide skilled support (e.g. utility, demolition, debris removal, or heavy equipment operation) or clean-up services in response to natural and human-caused disasters.

This training provides awareness about:

  • how to identify and mitigate safety and health hazards disaster site workers may encounter
  • the importance and proper use of respiratory and other personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • decontamination procedures that may be used to control/reduce the hazards
  • the Incident Command System and the National Response Framework
  • communication issues during and after a disaster
  • the effects of traumatic incident stress that can result from disaster site working conditions and measures to reduce this stress.

Participants will receive an OSHA card for completing this course.
