As we bring another academic year to a close, I want to extend my sincere thanks to each of you for the dedication, talent, and care you bring to UMass Lowell every day.

This has been a year of meaningful progress, hard work and continued momentum across our university. Our success as an R1 institution is made possible by the collective efforts of our faculty and staff, through teaching, research, advising, mentoring, service, student support, and the many essential contributions that often happen behind the scenes. Your commitment to our students, to one another, and to the mission of UMass Lowell is deeply appreciated.

Serving as your Interim Provost since January 2026 has been a privilege, and I am grateful for the partnership, professionalism, and generosity of spirit that so many of you have shown during this transition year. As we look ahead, one of our shared priorities will be to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition for incoming Provost Lynne Cossman, who begins on August 1. I know that, together, we will continue to support the academic enterprise and help position our university for continued success.

For now, I hope you will take some well-earned time this summer to rest, recharge, enjoy time with family and friends and celebrate the difference you have made this year.

Best wishes for a wonderful summer.
